Project Description:
“Promotions on Demand” was a pivotal project initiated for Fosters Group in 2007 with the prime objective of developing a digital solution to efficiently track and maintain strict legal compliance related to promotional activities for alcohol at licensed venues. This was achieved by creating a user-friendly internal digital application housed within the corporate intranet, designed specifically for sales staff. The application facilitated sales representatives in ordering promotional kits for their client accounts, a strategic move aimed at incentivizing and increasing sales revenue.
The digital application not only streamlined the ordering process but also ensured that the promotions for each licensed venue were accompanied by dynamically printed legal terms and conditions to meticulously comply with prevailing alcohol laws. This involved automation of printing processes where pre-designed promotional materials were seamlessly integrated with dynamic data entered into the application by the sales staff.
Upon order placement, the data was transmitted securely to a dedicated server established at the premises of our printing and distribution partner. This server was adeptly integrated into the partner’s workflow, facilitating the prompt printing, pick-packing, and subsequent shipping of promotional materials to the respective licensed venues.
Participating Brands:
The project was inclusive of, but not limited to, promotional activities for a select sample of premium brands including Carona, Skyy Vodka, Black Douglas, Stella Artois, and Wolf Blass. These household names were meticulously managed to ensure that each promotional material produced adhered to their unique brand guidelines and identity, further ensuring consistent brand representation and legal compliance across all promotional campaigns.
Role and Responsibilities as Project Manager:
As the Project Manager steering this initiative, my responsibilities were multifaceted and integral to its success. I led and managed a proficient digital team, ensuring the developed application not only aligned with but also exceeded the expectations of both the finance department and brand managers overseeing each participating brand.
I played a pivotal role in executing all creative aspects of the project, diligently working with our internal creative team. This collaboration was imperative to ensure that each promotional material produced was in strict adherence to the brand guidelines set forth by the aforementioned sample of globally recognized alcohol brands, thereby maintaining brand integrity and compliance at all times.
Through effective leadership and management skills, I ensured that the project’s objectives were met efficiently, delivering a solution that was not only timely but also within the allocated budget. The “Promotions on Demand” project, under my stewardship, successfully streamlined the promotional material ordering process, ensured legal compliance, and ultimately supported the sales team in enhancing revenue generation through strategically placed incentives.
